This chip will work on early versions of Wii console - LEH249 or lower. New Drive PCB's LEH250 or higher do not work with current versions of this chip.

The new Nintendo Wii Drivekey Modchip can be installed into all current versions of the Nintendo Wii console. We can fit the chip for you, or post the Drivekey chip for you to install yourself. There is no soldering involved in the installation process. Older no-solder modchip's had a major problem. When the Wii drive spun the disc, the vibration would cause the solderless joints to fail. Unlike those earlier no-solder methods, the Drivekey Modchip uses the already present ribbon cable connector to attach to the DVD controller chip. This eliminates any risk of failure of the connections. The Drivekey Modchip is the only non-solder Modchip that we recommend for the Nintendo Wii.

To play this perfectly legal backup you require the installation of a Modchip, or Modified Firmware. We provide Modchip services for this purpose. On certain consoles the game region restriction is also defeated. This allows you to play legally purchased foreign games from different regions.
